We simplified our enquiry funnel — a plain form first, wizards opt-in

Every public service page and the homepage now lead with a short enquiry form — "Tell us what you need" — prefilled with that page's topic. The multi-step "scope wizards" are still there, but demoted to an opt-in control: "Prefer a quick estimate? Scope it yourself" reveals the wizard inline only when you ask for it. The change shipped on 3 July 2026.

    Key Takeaways

    • Every service page now leads with a simple enquiry form, prefilled with the page's topic.
    • The multi-step scope wizards are now opt-in, revealed inline only on request.
    • Our own data: every traceable enquiry came through the simple form; the wizards produced none.

Why we led with the simple form

Why the rewrite? We looked at our own numbers. Every enquiry we could trace came through the plain form; the multi-step wizards had produced none. Leading with friction was quietly costing us the enquiries the simple form was already winning.

    An honest-measurement bonus

The wizard used to log a "start" every time its page loaded, which inflated the figures. Now it only counts when someone actually opens it — so the number finally reflects real intent instead of page views.
